in synergy: Human x Machine
What emerges from the interaction space of human-artificial expression?
On November 9th, we presented the "Echo State Machine": an installation exploring emergent outcomes from human-machine collaboration. Participants were asked to interact with the artificial system to produce patterns of music and light. Inspired by imitation games we encoded two "personalities" in the system which interacted with each other through call and response dynamics, influenced by participant interaction with trigger buttons.
The result: an experiential performance produced from embodied feedback loops where the machine echoes the human, and vice-versa. The boundary between human and machine expression is blurred: a synergistic relationship is formed.
